Let’s Celebrate!

How did you celebrate valentines day in your house?
Was it a family affair, with a bed full of kids and flowers and chocolates on the morning of Feb 14th?
Or have those delicious secret whisperings of kids busy planning, colouring and sticking hearts on paper in earlier years gone by?

That excitement always makes me smile, and the end results can make you smile even more…look at what MyGeckoMum Kate got from her 2 different boys and see if you can guess which one was the 9 year olds and the 5 year olds. It made Kate 😂.
Mums we’ve got this covered!
So with Mothers Day just around the corner in the UK, how many of you would like a present crafted with love from your little one?  Best get Dad to check out our website and order quick before you get a page from a school exercise book!
Here in Spain on the Costa del Sol we will be running some more creative workshops for lovely mothers day gifts to keep the British mums happy, and details are on our facebook page if you are in the area.   We will be also crafting for Easter and are planning some fun easter egg hunts combined with easter basket ma

king. It’s not all about chocolate, but any excuse!
Right now, Spain is in the throws of carnival week.
Whoop whoop. The mayhem and madness sweeps across the whole of the country as the
Spanish do love a fiesta. Our little village of Mijas has their own Carnival parade and its a real family affair. The kids from the local schools , dance groups and clubs all get involved as well as local businesses and families.
In fact last year MyGeckoBox managed 2nd place in the kids group category which made us very proud.
We swept along the streets with an ocean of tropical fish and sea creatures, plus some divers in gorgeous costumes ( not). There were no glamorous feathers and spangles unfortunately, but maybe the prize was for our sheer bravery!
Carnival week is an excuse to shake off the winter doldrums, l get out in the fresh air and party after shutting ourselves away for all winter.
So with music, dancing and a few beers and tapas en route its going to be a fun day. Win or loose, it doesn’t matter, but with this years emoji theme, we are hoping that our local school Ceip San Sebastian makes the judges smile and awards a prize.
Whatever you are doing this weekend, have fun!
